Diagnosis > Echocardiography

What is it?

It is a non-invasive imaging test that using ultrasound, evaluates the heart, valvular and pericardial morphology, plus the heart functionality. In addition by using Doppler in flow and regurgitation studies, heart gradients can be estimated to help defining the severity of cardiac diseases.
Below is a list of major cardiac pathologies associated to breeds. You can get information for regular preventive checkups for each one of the breeds.

Diagnosis > General Abdominal Ultrasound

What is it?

It is an ultrasound study in which all abdominal organs are measured (bladder, ureters, prostate, testicles, medial iliac lymph nodes, ovaries, kidneys, spleen, lymph nodes of the jejunum, liver, digestive tract, pancreas and adrenal). The study despite being systematic is fitted and adapted to each patient and case from the standpoint of the internist.

Diagnosis > Ultrasound to discard metastasis by using Doppler in the lymph nodes.

What is it?

It is an assessment of abdominal limfocentres, peritoneum, retroperitoneum and target organ of tumor metastasis. Additionally, a Doppler study of the semi quantitative indexes of intranodal arteries takes place to establish the lymph node state. Below is a list of the main breeds predisposed to lymphoma. Diagnosis > Ultrasound assessment of ascites (Doppler, portal hypertension, liver congestion)

What is it?

The ascites is a common clinical situation; thanks to an abdominal ultrasound study you can progress in the differential protocol including the heart assessment that helps you to evaluate the main causes, and finally we complete the study with Doppler looking at the hepatic congestion or the presence and severity of portal hypertension.

Diagnosis > Ultrasound search of portosystemic shunt

What is it?

It is the definition of vascular portosystemic abnormality by ultrasound in B-mode and Doppler, describing the size, position and path of the shunt. This way advanced imaging techniques are not needed, which are fairly much more expensive.
Below is a list of the main breeds predisposed to lymphoma. You can get information for regular preventive checkups for each one of the breeds.

Diagnosis > Ultrasound with micro bubble test

What is it?

It is a diagnostic technique using injection of trans-splenic contrast ultrasound in order to categorize the portosystemic shunt. This new technique developed by our team of professionals already has the backing of being published in the magazine of the American College of Radiology. In addition with this test one can evaluate the closure of the vessel after the surgery.

Diagnosis > Ultrasound of abdominal mass with puncture

What is it?

It is an ultrasound-guided puncture for cytological evaluation. It is done with a fine needle, no need to do coagulation test neither general anesthesia.

What is it?

It is an ultrasound-guided puncture for study of pleural effusions, pericardial or thoracic masses. It is done with a fine needle, no need to do coagulation test neither general anesthesia.

Diagnosis > Laryngeal ultrasound

What is it?

It is a functional assessment of the larynx by ultrasound. We can see the arytenoids' morphology and mobility. It does not require sedation thus avoiding false positives that may occur in the laryngoscope.

Diagnosis > Ocular ultrasound

What is it?

It is an ultrasonography of the eyeball and the retrobulbar area with a high frequency probe. It allows assessing the anterior chamber, crystalline, the ciliary bodies, the vitreous, the retina, the pupil of the optic nerve and retrobulbar area.

Diagnosis > Holter

What is it?

It is an electrocardiographic study during 24 hours; by using a hard disk receiver the electrical heart activity can be studied during an entire day and allows detecting arrhythmias that can't be diagnosed using a routine electrocardiogram.
It is recommended for any animal with premature ventricular complexes in an electrocardiogram, as well as Boxers and Dobermans. Ask us about regular preventive checkups on these breeds.

What is it?

We offer other ultrasound studies such as muscle-skeletal, tympanic bubbles, transfontanelar and urethral implantation assessment according to animal needs.

What is it?

It is the study of cells collected by puncture of a mass or lesion. Afterward the staining is performed according to the sample and finally comes the interpretation by optical microscopy.
